Here:

When I first rooted my phone I flashed a CM9 build from mid April. I want to flash the latest release, and have a question or two.. Can I just flash the new release ontop of my current ROM, or do I need to do a wipe first? If so, is there a way I can back up all my data, settings, and apps?

Guys does anyone know what's the default CM9 screen dimming brightness?
I flashed another kernel and miss the higher brightness on default CM9 kernel.

DONATE TO ME
Does anyone really know why CyanogenMod decided it would be a good idea to raise the color multipliers to a, for us, dangerous level? When stock is 0.40-ish and they have it 0.90-ish?

Makes no sense.
I'm only responsible for what I say, not for what you understand.

Phone: Samsung GT-I9300 Galaxy S III running CrapWiz.
Tablet: ASUS Nexus 7 WiFi 32GB running SmoothROM.

It looks good and is not dangerous at all. But I really think we should move on from this discussion. If you believe there is harm in using the settings that come with CM, you are free to change them. I don't believe they are dangerous and am rather enjoying the screen brightness.
Current devices:
Samsung Galaxy Nexus (gsm) - Asus Nexus 7 16 GB (wifi)
Old devices:
HTC Desire - Samsung Galaxy S2 - Motorola Xoom - Samsung Galaxy SIII

Setting your GN's CPU to 2000MHz isn't "dangerous" either - but nobody in their right mind would make it the default setting for a ROM

I have it enabled. I originally thought it was better performance. But the only enhancement I see now is when I'm typing in a reply box ever since its very smooth and not jerky.

On a side note, I got a voicemail this morning, listened to it and erased it from my voicemail box. But that damn icon won't go away and keeps saying I have a voicemail even though there are zero messages in my voicemail box. Any idea how to get rid of it or is this a carrier issue?

Fully wipe the phone and install CM9.
Use better battery stats to track wakelocks - one of your apps is probably causing the battery drain.
Connect to a different access point or check your wireless ap (is it a crappy chipset?). I use a very good TP-Link router w/ wifi and never have issues with wireless devices connecting to it.

I think you're blaming the wrong party here.
Wifi issues weren't present on drivers 5.90.125.94.

It'd be very nice if the title included the latest build.

Will doing this cause slowing down or will it run as smooth and quick as it would with a full wipe?
