  2. Plug it in TO A WALL OUTLET to charge, it'll look like it's coming on, but should show the Moto Logo then a battery.
  3. Wait until you get a full charge.
  4. Boot into Fastboot mode, flash boot.img, run the command "fastboot -w" and "fastboot reboot"

Alternatively, try this: Hold down Volume Up + Volume Down + Start + Power for around 5 seconds.

Hopefully your charge is going through. Let us know.
  1. done. even tried turning it on a few more times until it didnt even turn on the backlight.
  2. When I plug it (with the cable and charger it came with) I get no MOTO logo, no battery icon, no white LED.
  3. What I do get is "Bootloader Fastboot mode 03.11" and flashing on and off "Battery Low, Cannot Program"
  4. Holding Volume Up + Volume Down + Start + Power for around 5 seconds just stops the message from flashing and when I let go it appears to turn off.
  5. 1-sec. press of power button same thing.
  6. Should I just leave it plugged in and flashing that message, or leave it plugged in with screen off? Either way the LED isn't on.

I really hope this is fixable my girl just gave it to me today for valentine's day and this isn't looking good. I had it rooted, clockwork mod installed, and launcher pro running... I was in fastboot and typed "fastboot reboot-bootloader"

That's your problem right there. I take it you can't fastboot reboot either?

Never EVER use fastboot reboot bootloader. This has been the result for several of us, me included.

I left mine on the charger for about three days. After about three minutes the white light would disappear. Did the volume, start, and power trick, and it worked.

Try that.

Just got to a computer and updated the wiki, too...

http://motoactv.wikispaces.com/

Added a big bright red section at the top labeled "Things *NOT* to do with your MotoACTV", to hopefully avoid some of this stuff in the future lol.

If I plug it into my computer, the LED comes on and I assume it's charging for several minutes. Then it tries to turn on, but it's still stuck in fastboot, flashes the low battery message, the LED turns off and so does the device.

If I plug it into the wall charger the LED blinks once for ~.2 seconds. fastboot shows, low battery mesg. blinks, and it will just sit there and do that if i leave it, and its getting hot. similar situation as tansoftware was in it seems. I guess I should start packing it for return... maybe i'll wait a day...

If I would have just charged it completely b4 screwing with it I would probably be ok. I feel like a PRIZE assh*le.

That update should help any other impatient geeks. Unfortunately I followed the original post on cmw.me and there was no battery charging reminder. And I assumed it was charging while plugged in to my computer.. once I got stuck in fastboot I just let it sit there while I came to XDA for salvation... before I found the mention of the "vol keys+start+power" thing, It said low battery cannot program.

I'm gonna leave it off and plugged in to the charger, even though I think it's useless cuz the LED isn't on, and see what happens tomorrow.

I don't want to leave it plugged in flashing the message cuz I don't want it to melt itself or burn my house down...

How can I add something to the wiki? I have a few known working apps that aren't up there.

Try placing it with the metal part on a heat sink if you have one around... or something large and metal. Maybe the top of a refrigerator. Something that will wick the heat away from the metal back of the unit.

It's public, you might just have to register there to edit it. Or you could just post them here and we could do it for you. Either way is fine lol.
