I am not sure I am in the right place, but I wondered if the GNEX Toolkit would work with my new Sprint Galaxy nexus? I want to root it for now- while I wait for some new ROMS to come out - and wasn't quite sure where to start?
Any help you can offer is appreciated
Can you go into the settings, about phone screen and tell me the build number on your phone (eg. 4.0.4 IMM76D).
Im pretty sure the boot image from IMM30B (9 in the Model Selection screen) should boot up and 4.0.4 rom. If you select that from the list and try the 1-CLICK process (after installing the drivers) you can test it out. There is no danger involved as the process will just try to boot the phone into Android using my insecure boot image. If the image isnt right for your phone then it will just not boot and you can pull the battery to boot as normal with no harm done. If the phone boots then the image works and you can use it to root your phone.
If that doesnt work then you could even try the gsm 4.0.4 IMM76D selection if they are the same build version.

I appreciate any help you can offer - what I want to do initially is just root the phone and am not sure of the process- I have been using an EPIC 4G so the nexus is pretty new to me - The epic is the phone I ever rooted - and the nexus is brand new - so I don't want to "Brick" it.
I tried Option 7 - but nothing happened - I can see the Nexus on my computer - as an external device - so the drivers are working - or so it seems - but option 7 didn't do anything at all - (I selected the 4.04 IMM76D but I am not sure this is a GSM phone - someone told me Sprint is CDMA? (I personally don't know the difference - :) - right - I sound like a noob I am sure -

Sprints nexus is android 4.0.4 and build IMM76D. I see the android version and build listed under the GSM options but not the CDMA options. Will this work using the GSM option?
Edit: Never mind lack of reading on my part. Just had to look up 2 posts. Trying this on my friends nexus in a couple of days. I am trying to read up as much as I can before I attempt.

Did you even use option 1 to install adb/fastboot drivers before trying to root? It doesnt matter if you can see the phone on your pc as that is totally different
If you havent installed the drivers yet then go through option 1, then restart your pc and make sure the ToolKit lists the serial number at the top in both adb (android) and fastboot modes before trying the root process again.
And yes Sprint is CDMA so this is in the wrong thread but I will move all the posts across to the right thread. The main difference between the GSM and LTE is the Radio but the main boot image should still work on both models.

And I was able to unlock it - now, for rooting and 'stuff" :)
thanks for the help - this is much more complicated than it was for the EPIC - we had a program called "ODIN" that would allow us to flash tar files for rooting that was actually very easy - if your program had worked - it would have been easy to - but unforturnately for me - no such luck - thanks anyway!
(By installing your drivers I was able to manually unlock my phone - but for some reason the other options for rooting and stuff didn't work for me)

I can confirm this works for the Sprint galaxy nexus. However I had to use the pdanet drivers and select the GSM model IMM76D. Thanks much mskip.
So the gsm IMM76D selection booted up your phone? What operating system is your pc? I wouldnt think the Sprint uses different drivers but the pdanet drivers are a good alternative.
If you can confirm the IMM76D boot image worked then I can update the model selection screen to add Sprint and release the new version of the ToolKit I was holding back on.

IMM30B (option 9) is working for the Sprint GNex for me.
Great application here, thanks mskip.
I have a sprint GNX - but for some reason none of the options work for me - when I look at device manager, I see android device- I can also manually get into bootloader thru ADB - but running any of the options in this tool kit don't work for me - must be one of those - "Milage may vary" things - lol -
I am pretty frustrated right now though - I manually went thru the process of attempting to root my phone and I think I borked recovery - when I attempt to go into recovery now, all I see is a little android guy with an exclamation mark inside a triangle - no menu options are offered - screen is blank other than the andrdoid guy - not sure what if any options I have now?
My phone still works - I can boot into bootloader - my phone is unlocked - but that is the extent of things - -- arghh...

I have Sprint GN and I'm having issues getting my Google Wallet work. I keep getting the error message that it "cannot add card" when I'm going through the setup process.
So I wanted to unroot the phone and go back to completely stock..locked bootloader and all.
My Sprint Gn Build Number is: IMM76D. In the Toolkit, this build number is listed under the GSM model GN not the CDMA section.
So do anyone know if this kit will unroot my galaxy nexus and if so, what options do I select. I wasassuming the option that reflashes stock recoveryand then relock the bootloader....
