What would rooting do to my 10 dollars on Google wallet prepaid card on my sprint gnex. And how about the 40 dollars Google will put in there in three weeks. Will rooting erase my balance and prevent Google from putting in the free money in three weeks?

Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium

Unlocking the bootloader and Rooting the phone wont affect google wallet in any way.

Try Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper, backup root, then TEMP unroot, reboot, and then try!

Does unlocking and rooting require a data wipe?

Love this toolkit! Thanks mskip.

I would like to roll with an encrypted phone. Thankfully, someone came out with a work around for flashing custom roms using the phone's ram as a temp file system. http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...9&postcount=39

The last hurdle is nandroid backup and restores. I am able to manually use the dd command in adb to backup the phone's firmware partitions. I have in the past restored my kernel (boot.img) with fastboot (via this toolkit).

Would there be any plans to automate this process so one could easily backup the firmware and then restore the firmware for encrypted phone. There is no easy way similar to nandroid that works for encrypted phones.

Thanks again.
