I would always do it in the evening before I go to bed, then not power it back on until the morning.

Tempted to get an XO Skin...when I switched to a dry apply after try 5+ different wet apply ones, I never wanted to go back. Unfortunately the curved screen limits the dry ones so I don't have many options.

To those with XO installed...can anyone tell me if polarized sunglasses affect the screen? Some of the other protectors I've had would turn purple/black through polarized sunglasses (likely due to polarized anti glare stuff) which was always a hassle for me.
I have only seen this with the "anti glare ones"

Right, but how much is that? Zagg charges an incredible $4 for shipping, which probably still makes a profit for them.

That's the biggest fear for most people including myself.
I've never heard of a person damaging their phone with a wet application screen protector when taking the proper precautions (taking out the battery and giving it a bit of time to dry up). I'm sure some idiot out there could have drenched their phone with it still powered on and such, but for anyone who is careful this should be a non-issue.

Companies wouldn't be telling you to use a wet application if it was dangerous for your phone. I'm sure they have instructions on how to safely do this...I haven't looked into it, but I wouldn't be surprised if the solution they have is non-conductive anyway.

I think that taking out the battery overnight is overkill, but a very small inconvenience. Do that and you'll be fine.

How do you not prevent any liquid from getting into the ear piece speaker? I really don't see how you can't get any into that grill since it's cut so finely to fit that area. Wouldn't liquid getting into there set off the sticker inside? Or is it truly in the back only?

Just some of the fears I have. But if those are unwarranted then I wouldn't mind dabbling in wet skin solutions. Currently though looking fro dry ones atm.

I'm not telling people not to use wet screen protectors. Application of them is obviously safe almost all of the time, otherwise they wouldn't be so widely used. However, feel free to check out this thread, discussing how I almost broke my phone applying a wet screen protector:

I certainly didn't drench the phone and I took the battery out during the install. However, I didn't wait very long to put the battery back in. Personally, if you're applying a wet screen protector, I would advise you to do it at night and let the phone sit overnight w/o the battery in it.

I can't seem to find the place to enter the coupon code, I see the coupon code on the right but that only seems to check if the coupon code is valid, I can't seem to get the price reduced in the cart.

A few drops (4-6?), equally spread out, will spread out to the surface when the screen is put on. Just leave the screen protector's covering (only used to keep it clean from dust/etc) and try it out on a mirror or glass surface. That will show you how much to use.

2 minute video...fast forward the first minute if you want.

Other precautions for the paranoid:

If you squeegee the screen to get liquid out under it, move it away from the speaker.

If you're still paranoid then grab a very small piece of painter's tape (any tape will work...painter's won't leave a residue though) and cover the speaker. You're going to want to cut it to size first so you can still put on the protector. Just put the tape until your screen protector and use it as a stencil to cut the tape to size with a scalpel or exact-o-knife.

***EDIT for some humor***
