I have just started using this ROM since my Nexus is only a week old and its been great so far. Would you suggest I stick with Milestone 4 or a different build?

Go for Milestone 4 until next milestone release if you don't like bugs.

not bad. But you might get better battery using a custom kernel. Really depends on your usage though

Well I use my phone a fair bit, mainly for forum usage with Tapatalk and Facebook / Friendcaster Pro.

I'd say stay on stock kernel for maybe 2-3 days and see what kind of battery life you get, then flash something like franco's M2 kernel and compare to see if it's any better, that's really the only way for you to find what's best for you and your phone

Default Re: [ROM] Android Open Kang Project - maguro - milestone 4

B29 still has the mediascannerservice bug which keeps running in the background and prevents the phone from going deep sleep.

As discussed in another thread the general advice was to remove all media files on phone and reboot to see if the service stops tripping up. I can confirm this does not work as I've tried this across 3 different nexus and the problem persists.

For now the only way around it is by manually stopping the media storage service every time you reboot.

This problem existed since the builds post m3 so us not isolated to b29.

Please dev any response on this is appreciated.

In the meantime for people complaining about poor battery life pls check your wake locks before blaming the kernal.

Cheers.

1. Download CPU SPY free from Market! With this app you can check if your phone gets into deep sleep!
2. Search in Android Forum for BetterBatteryStats --> to check your wakelocks!
