Default 80(Gen9) Video call problem

Hello everyone,

I just picked up an Archos 80 G9 for a Christmas present and I can't seem to get video call to work.

I'm asking here because there is no General section for the G9.

So I've tried Skype and Gtalk video with no go. On Skype it just freezes and on Gtalk it just crashes.

I have the latest update to Honeycomb and stock out the box.

Anyone else having problems with it? Any alternitives besides these two?

I would like to figure this out before I wrapped.

Thanks.

Actually now that you mention it, no its not working.
So I guess its a problem with the camera software and not the apps?

This is so frustrating.

Reboot it because mine doing the same thing. After opening in skype and talk (which both video not showing up) I have to reboot the tablet before the camera can connect to it.
But if you open both application again the video / camera will stop working till you reboot.

Yeah, thanks. I figured that one out. GTalk video works, just not Skype.

Overall its a pretty good tablet.

And if you would post in the Gen9 part of this Forum you might have a better chance of an answer.

This is the Gen8 part.

Well the problem is that we only have a Gen9 Dev section. There is no other dedicated G9 sections, so general discussion doesn't really belong there.

I think we either need some new sub-forum sections for G9 devices, or people need to ensure that all new threads for G9 devices are clearly labeled as [Gen9], which this thread has in the title.
