how are we to get rid of this waste of space?

I have always been a big fan of Sense roms with the HTC sense launcher removed.

I get all the other awesome HTC apps with little of the HTC bloat.

Fast and Functional.

why would you want to get rid of the single working camera on ICS Sensation ROMs ?????

You mean the Launcher? I believe its called "aShell Homescreen Launcher" according to OP
