KL is the name of the new baseband that came with the 2.3.6 Android version. Without the new baseband wifi calling will not work. Without 2.3.6 you do not have the option to enable the wifi calling.
So the KL is not 2.3.6 and people are using the KL with 2.3.5 with no option for wifi calling now.
I just confused myself hopefully you can follow it. This is how I understand it, i'm sure someone will correct me if i'm wrong

The build and baseband is are kl1 but in order for wifi xalling you just need the new build not the baseband. The baseband is just pretty much the modem not the software that runs wifi calling.

Oh okay, I thought that the new modem kl1 was the only modem that worked with wifi calling, that is why our kid roms haven't added it yet. I didn't know it would work with kid and 2.3.6.

hmm interesting. I have to try it myself when I receive my phone back. That's good news because we have more choices.
