[Q] Another way to wake up the screen?

For stock, is it possible to use volume button to wake the screen up? I really dont like the soft power button. (or CUSTOM ROM is the only way to make this happen?)

I think widget locker will allow you to do this.

I installed Widget Locker but was unable to figure out the correct settings to enable volume button wake.
