Question HTC View 4G

HSN is selling the HTC evo view but it also checks you out so that you get a 2 year contract.
I know if i put my info it will be ok but the question i have is if i buy this from HSN, do they set me up with the 2 year contract or will they send in the tablet to me and then i will have to call spring to set up activation?
If thats the case can i just keep the tablet and use it with my wifi or hotspot from my Thunderbolt? and not ever set up a 2 long year contract with them?
Has anybody ever done this?

I can only imagine that they'll do the exact same thing that every other authorized seller will do, they'll have to pre-approve you for the line of service before the sale is complete. If you were to go through Wirefly or some other retailer, they would do the same.

Unless your buying from a source that is saying nothing about the 2 year agreement, your going to have to sign with Sprint to get the deal.
If I've helped you, please hit thanks!

I just received one Monday from HSN and I haven't activated it via Sprint nor do I plan to. I would really be surprised if HSN really checks up with Sprint after the sale to see if activation has been completed...what if this were a gift?

I know that's what i was thinking of doing also, buying one as a gift, but i don't want to be stuck with a contract and somebody else using it, i know HSN has a page after you click to check out it takes you to the info you have to put in to see if you qualify for the sprint contract, which i know is no issue for me but if i can do away with out jamming my self into a 2 year contract for a device that will be used mainly home or at work which there will be WiFi in both places, i do not travel a lot there for i do not see the need for a data plan
Yes i could go with another tablet but i really like the sense feel and i would like to stick with that, you know.

The HSN site clearly says it's $199 with a 2-year Sprint service contract on the website. If that is truly the case (which it appears to be), then you sign up for the plan when you buy it from them. You're then required to pay the monthly fees and honor the contract regardless of if you activate it on Sprint's network or not.

You can get it brand new with no contract for $239.99 and free shipping on eBay today: HTC Evo View 4G. It has been popping up online in the $230-$250 price range every few days for the past couple of weeks.

I purchased mine directly from this seller on their website a couple weeks ago for $230. It arrived in about a week's time and was in perfect, new condition. There's definitely no contract involved with this one. The one HSN is selling comes with a few extras - the Scribe stylus, a gel case, and headphones - but those aren't enough for me to want to get locked into a two year contract. If you're looking for mobile data with a contract though, it's a heck of a good price, especially since it includes the Scribe stylus (which goes for $40-$80 these days).

Turn of the bold typeface in your posts. It is pretty much the same as typing in all caps, it's considered shouting and is therfore impolite and it's very annoying to read. Bold typeface is for emphasis not for default use.

Perhaps Slickdeals.net can give you better shopping advice. But so many outlets are selling this device without a data contract (for around $220). If you're stuck, then do what you have to, but most mobile plans have a short return policy.

actually, the cheapest now is $239 on ebay. I have two unopened. if someone wants one, I'll sell it for that price shipped via fedex. I was going to keep one as backup and give one as a gift, but the person I was giving it to wants an ipad, so....
Epic and Transformer currently in the stable.
