Default AC adapter won't charge the Prime

I plugged my Prime in this morning and nothing happened. I was worried it was the USB cable or the port on the Prime so I connected the USB cable to my computer and it recognized it.
So I plugged the USB cable back into the AC adapter and still nothing. I search around and found this post about the original Transformer: http://www.transformerforums.com/for...t-adapter.html

The post suggests to put the AC adapter in the freezer to reset some overheat cut out. It also suggests to unplug the AC adapter from the outlet and let it rest for a bit.

I did both, I put the AC adapter in a ziplock bag and put it in the freezer. I didn't want to damage the AC adapter by making it too cold so I pulled it out after about 15 minutes and tried it....

It worked and my Prime is charging again. I hope this helps and let me know if anyone else has this problem.

Default flip

I had the older transformer and the wall plug would let you plug in the usb upside down. That may be the issue.

Default I have yet to find anything that works

My situation:
Transformer Prime tf201 will not take a charge and they keyboard doesn't seem to be responsive to charging either. Connecting the cable will cause the device to wake/turn on, but no charge is transferred and it shuts back off immediately after telling me that the battery is empty. No LED lights light up when charger is connected.

Attempts to fix this:
- Made sure cable works (transferred data to the computer)
- Took apart the AC adapter, messed with the prongs, and put it in the freezer. It also works when charging my iPhone via the usb
- Charged the dock by itself, keyboard by itself, and both together, nothing worked
- Pushed the "reset" under the micro SD clot
- Also, it will not stay on long enough to perform a "hard reset" with the sleep/wake button and the Vol down button.
- Tried 15+ different outlets and made sure everything is plugged in correctly.

Any help? A post with this that I missed? Something I'm overlooking? I would hate to pay the shipping to RMA and then find that it was something I had just missed... Again, device is totally dead so no software fixes will work.

I have this problem also. I went to a best buy to test things out and figured out the cables are fine its the ac adapter. The reason why it can trickle charge is the usb has two functions: 4 pin 5v 2amp charge and a 5 pin 18v (i think) 1.2ish amp charger. the 5 pins in the ac adapter aren't working so it reverts to the 5v charging. Anyone know a fix? I am trying to just by a new charger for the time being but they are out of stock :/

Had the same problem found a site(can'tfind link now) that recommended taking the plug end of the charger and bending the contacts. I bent mine out and twisted the top out just a little on each. Started charging just fine.

The USB cover of mine slips off every time, I remove it from the plug outlet. It seems like they didn't put much thought into the AC adapter.

The AC adapter is the same one that came with the TF101.
