No, nothing requires to install, just you need is to login to account as i hav mentined in post

What is very weird is that it is giving me successful and nothing is happening on the phone

Find my phone is working fine all the rest is not

how about battery life? have gou guys observed any negative impact?

This is not a program that runs in the background the entire time.. It only gets activated as soon as you give the signal to the phone via your desktop. So it won't affect the battery at all.
