Confused about locked bootloader and custom roms?

After all my inactivity on the forums i've seen so many things go un-noticed

so i now have CWM on my xperia play locked bootloader/ locked sim etc.

Full backup on CWM of my phone, can i now successfully install CM7 from cyanogenmod team?

if so can i safely go back to my backup of stock rom?
also will CWM will still be on my phone if i install cm7?

i have CWM insntalled from SE Xtreme tweaks

you cant install cm7 because it need a different kernel and with locked bootloader you cant flash a kernel.

No no,cm7 requires kernel which can't be flashed via cmw only fastboot which requires unlocked bootloader

I use these rom and not work ,my bootloader is locked

I think this may be the same as the problem I am having....you have to restore a nandroid backup of the rom you are wanting to use since you have a locked bootloader and it also has to be a stock based rom. Stock based as in does not require a kernel to be flashed in order to boot.
