Hahaha you know they posted the actual ROM right? Or am I missing something

No, you're right, just seemed like it still had a lot of holes in it, so I'm trying to be patient and wait for a more stable build... Guess poking around in the zip itself couldn't hurt, huh?
apk won't install, "... problem parsing... ". But that's actually good news, cause now we know it's 4.0.
If I have to use this as my daily, and revert to stock for webcam, I'll do it...lol
Besides, I've already almost got Angry Birds Space beat in this ROM, I'd hate to lose all that...
so last night i got a major freeze up. i dont even recall what i was doing at the time (i know, this makes this query of no help at all, lol), but it caused the screen to frreeze, half the screen was all weird and glitchy looking, and the other half appeared normal. i couldnt hit home to exit it, screen wouldnt turn off, and couldnt powerdown or restart. it was completely unresponsive, yet the display was still on. no LED charge light or anything(granted it was NOT on the charger at the time). had noo idea what was happening. so i just let it sit there, and it took nearly an hour for it to respond, then it finally rebooted itself and it restarted, and my phone showed a popup similar to something like "unauthorized device reboot detected" or something official-sounding like that. i was completely in the blue about what had happened. may not even be rom related, but it was definitely abnormal behaviour...

Uhh that's really weird. Are you overclocked by chance? That's the only thing I can think at the moment that would cause something like that unless you had like a bizillion apps running or something lol
Trial and error or do you have some guides to assist you? I'd really like to learn also.
A LOT is just trial and error and playing with things/learning how they function or work. But I do have quite a few guides I found to help me learn alot. Here's a few:
If you aren't familiar with the kitchen, then learn how to use it. It is a huge tool to help you out with a lot of stuff whether it be creating a ROM.zip or unpacking a boot.img to edit the ramdisk or replace a kernel.
I've learned a lot about porting ROMs by reading a handful of guides. These are useful, but porting varies greatly for every device. They are all different and it can be a real pain in the ass sometimes but the more you try the more you learn! Trial and error is a biggy here. And you must have a lot of patience.
Here are some threads that could get you started:
And lastly, learn how to use adb/fastboot. It's really helpful to be familiar with that. *cough* logcat *cough*
So that's just some stuff to help you get your hands dirty, but the rest is up to you. Google is your friend. Also, if anyone ever has any questions about this stuff, feel free to PM me and ask a question!
Edit: Oh and one last thing lol. If you really have some spare time try and learn how to write code. I can't wait till next semester because I'm changing my major to computer science
