CWM on Wildfire (3e stock recovery)

I'm trying to use the ROM Manager to install a few custom ROMs to play around a bit, but so far no luck. I get to the recovery screen, and if I'm not mistaken I have to apply update.zip in order to make the recovery replacement permanent, but it all fails telling me that it failed to verify the whole-file signature.

Looking around I think I got it narrowed down to being a problem with stock recovery (3e).

Does someone know a working solution?

Yes I have.

I found a solution after looking around forever. Since I used revolutionary to gain S-OFF and root, I looked at it again and there it was, the option to flash ClockworkMod recovery :)
Simply starting the revolutionary binary again and choosing to flash the recovery worked like a charm.
