 * Stable- official cm rom.

 * After stable- tweaking, Also adding features.
CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

Instructions:

First time flashing CyanogenMod 9 to the Motorola Photon 4G?, or coming from another ROM?
  1. Root the Photon.
  2. Unlock the Bootloader.
  3. Flash the 5027pre3 ClockworkMod Recovery through Fastboot.
  4. Perform a NANDroid backup of your current ROM.
  5. Format the system, data & cache partitions of your device.
  6. Perform a factory reset.
  7. Flash This ROM.
  8. Optional: Install the Google Apps addon package.
Upgrading from earlier version of CyanogenMod 9?
  1. Perform a NANDroid backup of your current ROM.
  2. Flash CyanogenMod (your Google Apps will be backed up & restored automatically).

Issues?

Experience issues? Please provide the following info:
  • If the device was hard reboot, please provide the file "/proc/last_kmsg".
  • If the device was soft reboot or is "bootlooping", please run a logcat and provide the full output.
  • Please use Pastebin when possible.

so far sooo good. Except for bugs already listed. In Dev tools google login service crashes the app. Not very serious for laymen like me.

Did you edit the build.prop in the .zip before you flashed? you can't do it after, gsm is working fine for me after the edit.

I did it after flashing, copied the modified build.prop to internal storage, and from the root shell, I remounted the /system in rw mode, and copied the modified build.prop to /system

BTW, I just flashed alpha 0.21, and then flashed alpha 1.1.2, and now the gsm is working, I still have the APN's disappearing issue.

DONATE TO ME
I have the APN and mobile data losing when:

1. I tick 2g networks only option, it enabled edge network, then I untick 2g networks only option, it enabled 3g. After some time it MAY lose APNs.
2. When airplane mode is enabled and disabled later, phone never has APNs.
3. When the phone rebooted the system (after freeze), phone never has APNs.

Idle mode seems to be fixed. Doesn't matter it's wifi-enabled or mobile data enabled in idle mode, seems to be fixed.

One more annoying thing: Sometimes I fully lose GSM mobile data + GSM signal. Airplane doesn't help

update. I'll post interesting logcat later.

got that row of errors again when I just turned on device, after some time. there was internet, then it was lost. Some thing in the logcat:

Quote:
W/Netd ( 1418): No subsystem found in netlink event
D/NetlinkEvent( 1418): Unexpected netlink message. type=0x11
I/ ( 1511): odm_disp_cabc_thread running

D/ConnectivityService( 1583): resetConnections(ppp0, 3)
GTalk service has The biggest intellect-> it says "That's strange!" xD xD xD

update2.
May be not too useful, but:
once we're losing mobile data, in the about menu I get:
Mobile network state: Disconnected
My phone number: Unknown

It is shown normally when mobile data is activated and works fine.

update3. When I activate "2g network only" option, after getting the losing of mobile data, reboot doesn't save 2g network only option value, each time it's disabled after reboot.

Don't know if it's been mentioned yet (I just got this phone 2 days ago so I haven't exactly been following development), but even with the most recent rom, the front facing camera doesn't work, either in the camera app itself or a third party app that would use it (tried with both skype and google talk).

Front facing camera works for me with Camera Zoom FX.
