the token is an attachment in the email, download to desktop, right click and copy it. Paste it in tools folder c:/programfiles (x86)/android/android-sdk/tools

also past in c:/programfiles (x86)/android/android-sdk/platform-tools

power down phone, pull battery, put back in, hold volume down and power, then plug into pc, if not on fastboot choose fastboot, then follow instructions via htc dev site.

I got unlocked about two weeks ago.

I did it over and over and over and htcdev website kept giving me an error.
I tried to get tech support at htcdev and even included the cut/paste thing, but their reply was that they can not help me and to just follow the directions on their website.

Then on a whim I went into the htcdev account settings and changed my email address to be the google address I use on the phone.

Then it said it was successful, but I would never get the email from HTC.
I did it over and over and over.

Then I tried changing the htcdev account email to another email account I have, and then another, and another. Then I finally found an email adress that htcdev liked. Only on that email address would it really send me the email - and it came within one minute.

It was a very short email address from my private domain name.
The length was: 12.1234567.com with no special characters, just all letters and one digit.

Bottom line: the HTCDEV website is extremely buggy, but I managed to work around the bugs.

Default Unlock -firmware 2.01.605

I thought I read somewhere on this thread that if you have the ota or 2.01 vs. 1.01 then this bootloader unlock would not work. Is this true?

The original was 2.01, the OTA was 2.11.

1.05 is the engineering hboot I believe. Where you get the 1.01 from is beyond me.

sorry if I'm mixing things up. I am s-on, locked, and software #is 2.01.605.11, hboot is 2.11, thought i read u can't unlock 2.11 with htcdev process. Is that correct?

After re-locking my bootloader, and running the 3.11.605.22 RUU, I can't seem to unlock my bootloader.

Is this unusual?

I went through the HTCDev steps, including re-downloading my Unlock_token.bin (which I already had from a month ago), and every time I try to flash it, I get

C:\Android\sdk\platform-tools>fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock.bin
sending 'unlocktoken' (0 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.144s]
writing 'unlocktoken'...
FAILED (remote: unlock token check failed)
finished. total time: 0.152s

Awkward?

DONATE TO ME
Sometimes those codes expire and they are s/n specific so you get a replacement you have to get a new code.

Do all steps 1-7 still work for ICS OTA, or do new procedures need to be developed? I would like to finally unlock and root my OTA now that I have ICS.

TIA!
