(You run a risk of borking your kindle fire doing any of this. I am not a dev, coder, teacher, or anyone you should listen to. These are only my findings, I suggest you do not do any of this.)
I made a little more progress. Again, I am running CM7.
From my stock backup I pulled from /system/app:
Tossed them all in a folder on my SDcard I named APK
Then I uninstalled the amazon market app that was already installed.
I took the build.prop from /system (from my original stock backup)
Opened it and deleted everything from
# end build properties # down.
Then replaced that info with the build.prop from CM7 (again, only from #end build properties# down)
So basically it is a frankenstein of the top half of the orig build.prop with all of the fingerprint and device info. And the bottom half of the CM7 build with all of the extra code for hardware accel and proper orientation and such.
Made a backup of the build.prop already on device, and pushed the frankenstein one /system to overwrite.
Installed all of the .apk's I pulled from the stock backup. Opened the amazon market, went to My Apps, signed in and BAM! Dead Space (Kindle Fire Edition0 was in the list again. Downloaded it, got excited.. But it is sticking on 'Installing' now. I tried a couple other small apps and they also hang on 'Installing'.
So, sounds like we are closer, but not quite there yet. I'll keep messing around, and checking back here to see if anyone else gets any farther.
Thank You to ALL Devs for your hard work
