Default Unlocking Orange UK Lumia 800...

Hi all!

My friend was bought a Lumia 800 for Christmas, but its locked to Orange and he does not have an Orange sim.

I have had a look on a few sites stating they can unlock it, but 2 have failed to do so so far!
And having to wait a week+ each time to see if its worked is just getting on my tits!

Anyone know of a place I can get an actual working unlock code O.o

Cheers
Keith

Check ##782# in the dialer and it will tell you if it's definitely sim locked or not.

Get him to contact Orange and request them to unlock it. Maybe say you're going on holiday somewhere for a month...

This site could unlock it.

As it is early days it is expensive to unlock it due to certain technical restrictions. See this thread for an explanation and more discussion on sim unlocking.

Will check if its locked in a min, but im pretty sure it is.
Will try orange if the current unlocker i have orderd from does not deliver the code today!

I have tried UnlockLiberty.com and currently trying unlockitnow.com!
I expect it to be expensive to be honest but as long as we can actually get it unlocked in the first place would be a start :-p

Cheers matey

Orange can unlock it as long as you know the original mobile number that it came with. It will take upto 30 days and cost £20.42p. So if you can get it done elsewhere it'll be quicker and cheaper.

Ok, so everywhere i have tried so far have failed me!
All said "sorry, not on the database, cant unlock"

One offered to send me an unlocking sim?
God knows what they is, never heard of it before!

Also tried to phone orange, but don't know the original number it came with, and they told me i would need to be on orange for at least 3 months before they will allow me to unlock... which is a freaking ball ache!

ARGH!
Need this damn thing unlocked lol

Oh yeah forgot about the 3month thing. Hmmm only thing I can think of is back street market type stall. Obviously this would mean waiving bye to the warrenty tho.

It's a small circuit board that sits between the SIM and the phone, they generally cost a couple of quid, and somehow do work.
