If this is legit I will be so happy. And doesn't the device come up as rooted when you try to rent a movie out of the market? I thought I read that somewhere around here. That is happened to at least one person

I would be happy with these results. It would be similar to how HTC handled it. The losing of a warranty kind of sucks but if you make sure yours is built well before unlocking you should be fine.

My guess is that they will give some bs argument like mentioned in previous posts (security issue) and will not unlock the bootloader... for now. Feels like they're not getting the storm HTC did. Are we not clear enough?

I posted on the Asus Benelux FB wall, no comments there by Asus and I'm not expecting they will comment at all.

As long as they don't unlock the bootloader I'm not buying.

So it was because of DRM afterall.
Me thinks someone needs to create a new backplate that either has a plastic area near the top where the GPS antenna is or a replacement backplate where it's all plastic. Either way, wonder if that will help
