Or, they could just use Homebrew, and type in:

brew install android-sdk
I don't see why I would add a link to your site at all. It's just a simple script. It's much easier using Homebrew, anyway.

Quick question: If I flash rumirand's r14 kernel, will this method works? It didn't work with my 2.3.6 stock, so I just want to make sure before I do anything stupid here!

In theory, yes.
Flash the kernel. If you type in adb, and get # instead of $, then yes, this will work. Heck, you don't even need the zergrush stuff, and could probably delete that bit.

I didn't see anything decisive. Does this work on the Galaxy Player 4.0 US?

Where are the rootme files? The link says the account has been suspended.

No. That's why this thread is titled Rooting the Galaxy Player, not CWM for the Galaxy Player. You'll have to flash a custom kernel for CWM support. If you're using a 5.0, Entropy's is nice. For the others, just look around. With the Galaxy Players, the recovery is part of the kernel.
