I have both problems.

Enable "force gpu rendering for 2d apps" doesnt work due to drivers etc..correct?

Will wiping data not wipe everything and you end up with no ROM? Did you mean cache and Dalvik?

Nope, full wipe is basically a factory reset. It just deletes user data. Your rom stays!

formatting /system leaves you with no rom
