Avoid deep discharge (depletion) and instead charge more often between uses. The smaller the depth of discharge, the longer the battery will last.
Avoid storing the battery in full discharged state. As the battery will self-discharge over time, its voltage will gradually lower, and when it is depleted below the low-voltage threshold (2.4 to 2.9 V/cell) it cannot be charged anymore because the protection circuit (a type of electronic fuse) disables it.
It is frequently recommended to store batteries at 40% charge level.
The rate of degradation of Lithium-ion batteries is strongly temperature-dependent; they degrade much faster if stored or used at higher temperatures and may even be stored in a refrigerator.
Remember this next time you "calibrate" your battery
I didn't want to say nothing before to anyone suggesting to discharge the battery to 5-10% because what you do with it is your problem i only hate when people suggest rom or kernel faults before doing research that maybe it's their fault battery is dying
Now to the battery drain that can be a lot of things since most people like to see their phone as a PC and play games and surf youporn with it 95% of the time there is an app running in the background that prevents your phone going into sleep mode. BetterBatteryStats is one of the apps that can help you find the problem. As of the discharge when the phone is turned off, that's your fault. Get a friend of yours that has similar phone get his battery and test it if it's the hardware on your phone that's making a short on the battery if not then buy a new one.
Thanks, but I still don't really see how this helps me solve my problem. I am aware of the basic tips of how to extend my battery's lifespan (no deep discharges etc.) and I've starting to use better battery stats to start monitoring my kernel and partial wakelocks. Could you please elaborate what you mean by the discharge when my phone is off as 'my fault', and how could I go around this? (other than borrowing another battery which I'm working on)
Device: Sensation XE GSM S-Off and Rooted
ROM: Elegencia Sense 4 3.4.0
Kernel: SebastianFM's Kernel 1.5.2
Recovery: 4EXT Touch Recovery
I would like to thank Steve and the whole development team for all the work done on the Sensation, but I regret to say that I bought the new T-Mobile galaxy note and I had to sell my sensation to pay for it. Again thank you for the best ROM on the planet and I start my journey in the t whizz land and I hope it works out but I could not pass up on the huge screen and cool stylus

I can confirm that my facebook notifications ARE working I also do NOT get any reboots using the google maps. I started with a full wipe and formatted my sd card. I am using sense4 v2.7.0 with faux kernel nonsense version of rom. This is my report on a few problems Ive heard about in the last couple days.

Gotta make an error fix on some info i gave someone on here and gave credit to the wrong person. Don't know if it was noticed but just had to give credit where it's due. The other day i was speaking of a battery mod with somene and I pointed him into the direction of the ones made by saugbaer and accidentally said it was made by hd2neuling, i think it's spelled that way if im not correct. Im pretty sure as it looks aka paul makes some but the older ones i was speaking of that i accidentally said was made by hd2neuling, was actualy made by saugbaer. Sorry for the mix up in you all's work guys. My mistake.

You know i wish i could grab your phone have a look at it and say here is your problem but when it comes to the battery you say DAMN. At the moment we can't do anything to stop it from discharging when it's off, you need that other battery to test if it's hardware that is causing a short and depleting your battery or is it the battery itself that can't hold a charge no more.
It will take a few days to find out but be patient, i had a problem with my wifi speed beeing slow and fixed it in 2 days i'm sure you'll get to the bottom of this
Thanks brobberson and wishing you good luck with your new toy !

Well I didn't specify Facebook. Did you removed applications via Aroma? If yes, can you tell us which ones? I have read every post of this thread and in the last 10 pages or so, I don't recall having seen someone mentioning this issue, I can be wrong on this but you are the first to mention it.
Can you specified what have you tried to fix this?
Hi, I literally did not remove any app via Aroma. I did not check anything on that screen.
I have already tried to clear data and cache for facebook, facebook for HTC Sense, Contacts, Calendar, then reboot, resync everything then set up facebook push as they were before when is worked. I did this several times, still does not work.
