[MOD]ExtSd2InternalSd v3|Increase your data storage|CMW zip|100% Working|For EePad
Hello folks,
i'm new of transformer but not of android. I'm a php developer and I like to play with my android devices and Linux but I'm surely not a king on Linux little more than a newbie
But first of all i want to describe the scenario:
THE PROBLEM
Since i have a desire hd and i have a normal management of internal memory and sd as separate process my problem is to have a similar management on my transformer. Also i have 16gb version of transformer and i want install a lot of apps!!! Also i have a 32gb sd card available. I have noticed that my transformer installs all on internal sd also and apps download all their resources on internal sd. So with some heavy games and heavy app the internal memory became quickly full!!!
THE SOLUTION
My aim so became to use the external sd as internal sd and internal sd ONLY for apps installation so became used as internal memory!
And... yes after a while i have to make this working!!! So now my 32gb external sd is used for all tasks which the internal sd was used and the internal sd is only used for apps storage!! All extra files (resources, caches, etc etc) are stored in my external SD!!
Also if i want to see the internal memory management i can see that now my tablet has 32gb internal memory and 16gb external!! WOOW
HOW TO GET IT >>> VERY SIMPLE
WHAT YOU NEED
Asus Rotted
External sd card class 4 or superior. (you can try with class 2 also and tell us how it goes)
THE GUIDE First of all make a nandroid backup!! I'm not responsable for any problem! You make this procedure at your risk!!!
Format external sd card from your pc as fat32
Copy attached zip in you external sd
Go into recovery
Flash the zip
Reboot and....enjoy your memory increase!!!!
For update from version before 2, delete the old file from you external sdcard root, unistall script manager (optional) and flash the new zip.
Note:
If you want to access to your INTERNAL SD you have to go with astro or ES filemangaer or what do you wanto to /Removable/MicroSD
If you want to see how much space do you have simply go in memory info in settings and check but warning: the situation is inverted! The INTERNAL SD is seen as EXTERNAL and viceversa!
After the flash, if you don't come from a clean rom installation, please copy all content of /Removable/MicroSD to /sdcard to avoid file conflicts and files lost. I suggest to start from a clean rom installation then install all apps!
If you want to remove the mod, simply flash the attached remover (but why you want remove it?? XD)

Thanks for working this out and posting. Tried it out on my rooted TF running latest Revolver ROM, with a class 4 32GB microSD.
As you said, System settings shows both internal and external memory as 32GB, with Titanium showing the correct info.

Of course copy all content of new /system/sd2 to /sdcard or you may have some problem with files location.
Opening /system/sd2 shows an empty folder when viewed in both script manager or ES file explorer (root enabled). Guessing this is why widgets aren't working. Also, there is a huge amount of system lag with the script enabled.

All my widgets works and my system is very smooth without any type of lag.
Is very strange that your sd2 folder is empty. I think the cause of your problem is here.
Starts form a clean system, install only script manager and then follow my tutorial.
Isn't apps2sd on a transformer a really bad idea? 16gb should be more than enough, and the microSD reader in the transformer is slow as hell. Wouldn't wanna be launching my apps from it to be honest.
As long as I keep my music and movies (i.e. data) on the microSD, my /sdcard/ (internal 16gb) is ready for apps installs and apps downloads... more than enough in the past last year.

Infact all apps in the internal memory! Only resources (Android/data for example) are in the external sd. All apps and their "system" files are stored in true intenal sd.

Have to agree with dipje, so far not had any issues with space on internal memory. Just thought I'd test it out since you'd posted-always nice to have feedback! Was thinking of trying out the Android Revolution rom - if I do, will try this again before reinstalling my apps and let you know how it goes

Ok, so did a full wipe and installed the KRAKD rom, so thought I'd try this again. The lag is gone (so probably was due to something else!)
I tried installing some apps from Market, rather than restoring with Titanium. Widgets do work, but the sd2 folder remains empty. Settings dialog lists internal SD as 32GB.
Using ES file explorer and script manager file browser, Removable/MicroSD and mnt/sdcard both point to the external SD, sd2 is empty - internal SD doesn't appear to be mounted anywhere!
The topic of piracy is always a touchy subject, but I feel that the grass roots style of Android … more
