[Q] Few Problems today
Hey all,
I've had an SGS2 for about 4 months now and it's the best phone I've had yet
Having come from the Desire HD and a Desire before that, rooting it and so on was a bit different, but with the help of this forum and others I got there.
Today I decided to buy the full version of ROM manager and do a backup of my current custom ROM. Chose the relevant option and the phone restarted - and then froze at the startup screen! No matter what I tried I couldn't get it to restart normally or even to Recovery Mode. The only thing I could get it to do was boot into Download Mode
So I figured ok, that's what I get for messing with it - I'll just reload it using ODIN.
That brought me to this page:
http://www.inspiredgeek.com/2012/01/...eaked-version/
Followed the instructions there and all went well and my phone is alive again and I must say I like the new ICS look
But..
I've lost root and SuperOneClick 2.3.3 freezes about 7 steps in "waiting for device" - I'm guessing the new kernel the above steps installed isn't compatible yet? (version 3.0.13-I9000XXKP8-CL2141 / Android 4.0.3)
So my first question is... how do I get root back from here? Also I really dislike Touchwiz. Any way to get rid of it and use the default ICS launcher, or will I just reinstall the Win 7 launcher I used previously?
Cheers for any advice!
