Question Any 64GB units with an even PARTIALLY working GPS unit?

I just posted this same thread in another forum - so I apologize if you're seeing this twice but...

I've been reading thread after thread about the GPS issue. And I see that a lot of people are able to get at least SOME sort of GPS signal on their Primes (albeit, unusable ones in most cases). Would any of these units be 64GB units?

I have a 64GB in Amethyst Gray - I've had it since January 3rd. Pretty much every day after work, I head out on my balcony and sit there, like an idiot, trying to get SOME sort of signal that I even have a GPS unit built in. With either GPS Status or GPS Test - I get ABSOLUTELY NO GPS reception - none whatsoever. Not a single bird shows up with either app - and I've never had a lock on GPS (ever). I'm talking about sitting on the balcony for 30 minutes in the cold - crystal clear skies - holding the thing up in the air and it can't see a SINGLE bird!

Does anyone else have that issue? I've even taken the thing to work to test it. I work on the 29th floor of a building that's just a few blocks over from Lake Michigan (my window faces the lake - not the other buildings). Meaning - I have a completely unobstructed view of the sky over there - 29 floors up in the air - and the same thing - not a SINGLE blip.

I've tried deleting AGPS data, I've redownloaded it - I've tried with WiFi on - I've tried with WiFi off - I must have reset this thing at least 50 times in the past week playing around with different combinations (maybe I'll delete AGPS first, then reset, then redownload - or maybe I'll reset first, then delete AGPS, then reset again, then redownload and try with WiFi off - nope, maybe I'll reset first...).

This is all I've EVER seen:

Any thoughts or ideas? I understand I'm not going to be able to navigate with this thing when I'm in the middle of the city of Chicago - but I WOULD like it to at least give me SOMETHING.

BTW, for what it's worth - I have not had a single issue with the WiFi - either at home, or at work... Seems to work perfectly fine for me.

I have a grey 64GB and the GPS seems to lock on, even without AGPS (driving through the country near my house with no wifi for miles)...I get accuracies in the 45 foot ballpark...Seriously, 45 feet should be good enough for nav though, if you are within 45 feet and can't figure it out, you should probably not be out of the house unsupervised......I just haven't tried to pre-cache any google maps and actually nav with it...But I work for Garmin, so suffice it to say, there is already a GPS in my car...I didn't really buy this to be a GPS (though it would be cool to have a 10 inch GPS...)

EDIT: My wifi works fine too... a bit weak in my cube, but we have a metal building, metal walls, and sometimes my computer has a hard time with the wifi...

Yeah - I'm trying to figure out if I actually have a defective unit (other than the normal GPS pains).

I just don't get it - I've never had a problem with getting a GPS signal on any other device (I have standalones, a couple of iPhones, a unit in my car's headunit, etc.).

My return period isn't until February 3rd - so I'm going to wait for ICS to see if that changes anything - although I'm doubting it will...

Any advice for me? Anything else I could possibly try?

I would be happy with even a 90 foot accuracy - at least it would show signs of life!

DONATE TO ME
I've never had a GPS signal at all.

Although this is somewhat irrelevant for this thread, as I have the 32GB model.
