Default [Q] javascript is the problem - honeycomb?

I have had the prime for about a week and was intending for it to replace a toshiba thrive that I had. Although I use it for other things, my primary use is web browsing. For web browsing, the Prime is very slightly smoother than the Thrive but it is just as slow in loading many web pages. The main holdup on both of them is javascript - if you turn off javascript, they are both pretty fast and much smoother.

In my opinion from playing with it a little, the only thing that is better about an ipad to android tablets, is that the ipad handles javascript much faster and pages load (especially without flash) almost as fast as a desktop. Only Opera seems to handle javascript very well on an android tablet - all of the other browsers are slow which is unfortunate because I am not wild about the opera interface. I was really hoping though that the Prime would load javascript much faster because of its better cpu but that does not seem to be the case. I guess its strictly a browser/honeycomb problem but I am surprised about this and surprised there isn't some optimization/fix for it. Anyone know if there is a major improvement in ICS?

On a Galaxy Nexus, yes or so I've been told. On TF101 and TF201, it remains to be seen.

Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk

- Samsung Galaxy S3 (T-Mobile )SGH-T999, stock+rooted.
- ASUS Transformer TF201 32GB, CyanogenMod.
- ASUS Transformer TF101 32GB, Prime ROM (damaged/retired).
- HTC MyTouch 4G Slide, CM 9.1-stable, retired.
- HTC MyTouch 4G, my first CyanogenMod (7.1), sold.
- LG Optimus T, stock+rooted. gifted to a beautiful Firefly.

Turning off JS is simply not a viable option to me. You must have JS running to really utilize many websites core functions.

But maybe with ICS.. none of this will matter

turning off javascript works for me 95% of the time but there is no real advantage to the Prime over the Thrive if I have to do it

Really? The savings alone in bulk and weight over that beast of a Thrive is not good enough? ICS in the next week is not enough? I could go on and just why there are many advantages over the Thrive.

The op need only to look at the video on YouTube of the galaxy nexus running ICS vs the iPhone 4s running the web browser test. In every test the nexus loaded web pages faster & scrolling was a breeze. That's the reason I'm keeping my prime. If ICS can do that for the nexus, imagine what it will be like on the prime.

Does anyone know for sure that ICS has a better browser? Isn't it dependant on the ROM build? Meaning poor programming on ASUS's part? With the build problems I wouldnt be surprised if the OTA of ICS is going to be a pile of poop too.
