Screen protector question

If my screen already has a few scratches, which it does, can I still put a protector on the screen? Will it just fill in the gap for the time being? Sorry if this should be in Q&A, but I thought this was a more appropriate place, seeing as its an accessory based question.

Yes, you can. I did it and it looks very good (although the biggest scratch is a little more visible, the smaller ones are not visible). I used some cheap anti-glare protector. The effect is great - looks like matte LCD screen now.
