Default Netflix and Battery Life

Do you guys find that Netflix just lays waste to your battery? My standby time is basically a flat line as far as the battery is concerned, but when the screen is on it goes down pretty quick and I have brightness set almost to nothing. If I use Netflix though it just goes straight down.

Is this normal for most of you too?

How quickly is the battery draining? How much have you lost after 30min? After an hour? Personally, I do see a quicker battery drain, but it's not unreasonable considering that running Nextflix uses the most battery-taxing features of the device at the same time; Wifi radio for downloading, processor & gpu for processing and display, and screen. Netflix will drain the battery quicker, (to be fair any streaming will drain the battery quicker than watching video in internal memory,) but if you can provide that info, we'll be able to see if it's standard or if you're experiencing more drain.

If I have helped you, don't hesitate to hit the THANKS button

DONATE TO ME
If Netflix is doing HD software decoding, that would kill battery.

At least on my Galaxy Player, Netflix seems to do software decoding instead of hardware decoding.

An excellent post on "noobs vs. developers"

A few opinions on kernel development "good practices"

Note: I have chosen not to use XDA's "friends" feature - I will reject all incoming "friend" requests.
