[Q] Low Headset Volume on European Models - US users please help!
There are rumors that due to European regulations manufacturers have to limit the headset volume on mp3 players, phones etc. Indeed the volume of my Optimus Black is very low. I have to use maximume volume to get what I would call "normal" volume. This is very annoying espc. when trying to listen to e.g. podcasts in a loud environment (car).
My guess is that the volume in European devices is limited in some config file. I found "asound.conf" in "/etc/". There's a section that begins with "pcm.AndroidOut_Speaker_Headset_normal". I would be very thankful if someone with an US device could have a look into that file and tell me what the "value"-lines below "DAC2 Analog Playback Volume" (on my german device: "[9 9]"), "DAC2 Digital Coarse Playback Volume" ("[1 1]") and "DAC2 Digital Fine Playback Volume" ("[54 54]") contain or if the are just set to "value 'off'".
