The Odin that supports Galaxy Y is currently v1.75 with flashes one package only which requires pit, boot, csc and etc together. Still unable to flash single file for the time being

this question keeps coming up every 10 minutes or so.

we have to discern those bona fide PDA-parts for ODIN, and single-file-KIES-archives. NANDROID backups come in the shape of single files, too.

as of now, ODIN cannot flash "single file archives" onto a SGY , such as "S5360XXKL3_S5360OXXKL1_RST_S5360XXKL3_HOME.tar.md 5"

however, CWM 5.0.2.6 can indeed restore certain "single file archives" on an SGY.

So we need to confirm working combination for SGY = Samsung galaxy Y (GT-S5360):
which ROM archive ver. ?
which CWM restorer ver. ?

appearantly, Cranium, InFected and others can be written by CWM. But many "single file ROM archives" that u find on the internet, are useless with ODIN v1.84

upgrading via KIES is not possible after using ODIN with a downloaded ROM. Kies will not recognize the SGY as upgradable. The user is stuck with ODIN based upgrades instead of KIES.

CheckFusDownloader_v2.1.exe will get those HOME.MD5 ROMs mostly, thats too bad.

it is usually impossible to do that in KIES. KIES only works with really pristine SGY phones only, unfortunately. some folks tried to reset the SGY to pristine state, though. seems, so far, little is known about that. e.g. to reset the counter, that counts each ROM flash. a USB jig may be used to debrick SGY and reset flashings counter. reseting the counter of flashings may require downgrading the bootloader, since that feature was removed in recent versions of Android, unfortunately.
