OC Question

Hey guys,

Last week I used my friends 7.0 plus and loved how fast the tablet was, the quality was great the only issue I had was the size. I wanted something a little bigger.

So I went out and got the 8.9, to my surprise it lags way more than the 7.0 plus. After reading online it’s because the CPU is running at 1ghz and the 7.0 plus is running at 1.2ghz. Also the 7.0 plus is running 3.2 OS.

So I want to overclock my tablet but I don’t know anything about roms and what rom is good and what isn’t. I would like to install a custom rom that just allows me to overclock my tablet not change anything else.

Can any let me know if there is a rom that just allows you to overclock your tablet? I know how to root my tablet, I have done it before.

It us nit necessarily the ROM that lets you overclock, it is the kernal, that being said most roms include a custon over clockable kernel

The Overcome HC3.2 ROM, the ICS CM9port, and the AOSP Galaxian Soup ROMs all support ovetclocking and very nicely eliminate most of the lag.

It's not just that it's clocked faster; it's an entirely different processor. The problems go deeper then clock speed, such as (as you indicated) the different version of Honeycomb.

Overclocking might help with some lag; I haven't rooted my tablet at all so I haven't messed with overclocking. It likely won't be the be all/end all fix though.
