If you're a fn of Otterbox email and ask them if they plan to make a case for the device. If enough requests come in they may start to manufacture a case for it!
I hate to burst your bubble but it doesn't work that way. I do the electrical for this company and know the owner of the company. Tablet cases are only made based on the demand. How do I know this? Well, I sat down with the owner and their engineer on this issue. I had even asked why they didn't make the case for the prime. Multiple reasons, first and foremost, companies rarely will offer the device in advance so that OB will make the case as the device is released(Apple hates the fact that OB makes a case, why? because it hurts apples sales for their own cases). Secondly, and most important, OB must establish a contract with the manufacturer or supplier in order to make the case. Once this is done, the case is then tested against weather or not it will sell and also if there is a market for that specific device. My response to that, "but there is". OB's response, it is dependent on weather or not the manufacturer will issue an order or if OB will get a sales request from a supplier, like best buy or amazon.
So in short, emailing customer support is a waste of your time. I know a few of their agents and most of the time those requests are reviewed however nothing can be done without an order.
Big issue I think is that tablets just don't get the same case backing as phones do. (excluding the iPad, which is very well supported by accessory makes, but then again, there's only one model every so long.) If more companies like Trident, Griffon, etc. put more focus on other tablets we'd easily see something similar to, if not an OtterBox, but they seem to think (and unfortunately are sort of correct) that there's more money to be made on the iPad than other tablets. I would love any rugged solution for my prime, Gum Drop, OB, Trident, I really don't care.
First off, not the utility guy bud...I've done his work back when they had some ugly cases. Second, I could care less if you believed me. I doubt Curt cares weather his company makes one for you or not. Last I checked, he does just fine without making a case for every device. I'll let him know though when I see him in the morning. After all, his office is on the third floor. Which is where my meeting is tomorrow.
And since the OP is the person that asked, and wasn't being a Dick...send me a pm and I'll see if I can at least get you a free case for a phone...just send me your phone details.
I'll mention it to him again about the prime case.
Thank you for your interest in our product, unfortunately, we do not have any information if this particular case will be made at this time. It is something that has been requested. I have put in a product suggestion on your behalf, and recommend keeping an eye on our website, as well as, becoming a fan of ours on Facebook. It will have the most up to date information on any new releases that we may have. Please let me know if you have any further questions.

If there's enough fanfare and interest they probably *will* make it. It's not "never", it's "how hard do you all want it?"
If there is enough interest, it will be made. We'd have to pull off another massive, highly targeted, multi-pronged Social-Media attack....
But it's entirely possible.

Boiling this down...
Find an independent supplier (NEWEGG, YOU READING THIS?!?) that has a geek heart, that would be willing to field something like this.
Stage a massive Facebook Wall takeover/Twitter bombing like we did with ASUS, only this time requesting an OtterBox for the Prime.
The focus would be not only OtterBox but suppliers....

Valid point, but I don't believe you at all. An engineer AND the OWNER of a company as big as OtterBox, and not marketing, sat down with the utility guy to explain this? Yeah...doubt that, but it doesn't matter. Big issue I think is that tablets just don't get the same case backing as phones do. (excluding the iPad, which is very well supported by accessory makes, but then again, there's only one model every so long.) That was pretty rude, the guy was only trying give us some inside information into how these decisions are made and you have to jump on him? Now when we may need some additional information in the future from not only him, but others may have second thoughts about posting some piece of information for us. That was a pretty jack a s s way to act. In my business (global restaurant company with over 350 locations) Our CEO talks with everyone at the HQ, and everyone is ENCOURAGED to bring ideas and innovation. What a terrible kind of place to work....
It's highly likely they'll come out with something if they already have a TF101 case...
I agree. And I got the same email as everyone else. I would find it hard to believe that a company would deny a certain market if the demand was high enough.
