Default Installing KezraPlanes' Optimized ROM

Instructions (quoted for reference):

(1) Reboot your phone into recovery;
(2) Make a backup of your current ROM;
(3) Wipe data/cache
(4) Format /system/
(5) Flash the ZIP
(6) Enjoy.

A few questions before I try this, because I'd like to save myself the pain of screwing up.

1. Will the phone's default recovery be adequate for this, or do I need to flash another custom recovery? If so, do I need to root the phone first?
2. What is the procedure to reflash the original ROM if I screw this up?
3. Will formatting /system/ wipe contacts saved to my phone?
4. How do I back this phone up as substantially as I can before I try this?

My apologies if these are stupid questions, I'm afraid I failed to find the answers googling. Thanks for reading and replying.

1. I would advise you to use Arco68's CWM Recovery

2. If you follow the instructions you shouldn't screw up, but you can always use ODIN to reflash in case that happens.

3. Yes it will. It will wipe everything. If you have your contacts linked to your Google account however you should be safe. In any case, you can always use GO Contacts to export your contacts to your SD card so you can go get them back later.

4. After flashing the recovery, do a backup from it. That's the best one can do.

Hy!

Can I restore my original stock ROM with CWM recovery if I created the nandroid backup with RZRcovery? I ask it because Rzrecovery can't restore nandroid.

It said Restoring /boot... Failed.
E:unknown volume for path [tar ...]
It writes unknown volume... to system.tar, data.tar, cache.tar.

I don't know what's wrong but I want to restore.

My phone is from TIM Brazil, and I wonder if this modded rom would work on my phone and what I'd need to change before trying to install. Also, considerinh the Antutu BM they got was 3740 and mine is 3707 with my stock ROM, I wonder what would the advantages be, other than a quicker boot and less junk installed.

Thanks guys!
