Default 2.3.5 to 2.3.6

Hello there!

I Brought the Samsung Galaxy W yesterday, first smartphone, first time user of Android so in other words a noob.

I've been doing a bit of research, and i see there is a 2.3.6, i have tried to update to this via settings/about phone/update but it says "No Update" Also i have tried through Kies which im having trouble with as it just keeps saying "Connecting" when i plug it the usb in and load Kies up.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I can update using Kies (for almost 1.5 hours needed). Now it's 2.3.6
I try to use Kies first, if can't. Odin is the final answer. Scare of this warranty claim issue.
