Editing apk

Last year I paid some guy to create me a simple app, he told me he used eclipse and android sdk. I have the apk and the source code for everything he has done. But I cant seem to open it as a project in eclipse. Why does it not let me? Its just greyed out when I click on project.

Did you install java sdk, eclipse and android sdk?
Then try to import project first. I consider eclipse the most unfriendly big dev env.

i find that eclipse has a fit unless you

1 create new android project,
2 choose from existing sources
3 pick the folder with the sources in it
4 press next

eclipse has its quirks... and from what i've found seems to be different on every pc
