Default Extended Battery Option - LG Spectrum

Anyone know if the optional LG Spectrum extended 3000mah battery/back will fit our Nitros? Or are there any alternatives available?

This image is taken from LG's website, showing the battery of the LG Spectrum.

Looking at the battery, it has the same model number as the Nitro HD, which should mean shape and size will be the same.

In regards to that, this means the extended battery should have the same dimensions as the stock battery, only fatter, which means it should fit in the Nitro as well.

It's always nice to have a cousin with the same specs Wish they had the same body design, that way we can get their cases too lol.

The extended battery has a new back, the battery will probably fit but since the shape of the Spectrum is more square than the Nitro I am guessing the new back will not fit.

Yeah, the back cover of the spectrum will not fit the nitro. However, I'm very sure that once manufacturers notice that an extended battery that is available for Spectrum can be used on the Nitro as well, they will start producing something for it too

I'd be very interested in a better battery. As stated, the stock spectrum battery is the same as our Nitro. It's just a matter of covers. I really hope they decide to make one.

Edit* I've done some searching and what I want to know is the LG Spectrum was just released 5 days ago on 1/19/12 and they already have the extended battery and cover? Not fair. Ours has been out longer AND has a SERIOUS problem with battery life and we get nothing? WTF LG?

I wouldn't necessarily blame LG on this. They are only the manufacturer and make what is requested by the carrier. Verizon seems to always have extended batteries for their phones, while AT&T just sticks to stock and leave it to OEM manufacturers to create accessories.

One way we can possibly get an extended cover is to reach out to some OEM companies and request them to create OEM covers for our phones. Surely if they see that there's enough customers, they will start making em.
