Default UPDATED 20APR2012 - 8 touchpoints for cm7dx2-rc1

I have noticed that people are asking for more than the default 2 touchpoints in cm7dx2. So, I modified my multitouch zip that I personally used on other ROMS. I need 3 touch points for Droid 48, my HP48 calculator emulator. In any event, I thought I would release it here.

As with ALL of my mods and tutorials, this is the standard disclaimer: What you choose to do to your phone is up to you and you take responsibility for what you do. If you brick your phone, I am not liable... This modification is provided as-is where-is, with no warranties or guarantees, written nor implied.

With that outta the way, here you go! I'm not doing a tutorial write up on this, however, it's VERY simple and straight forward.

First of all, you MUST be on Cyanogenmod 7 for the DX2 ONLY!!!!!!!!! Why? Because it pushes a slightly modified build.prop file! There is a setting in it that is required to increase the multitouch points. IF you have a modified build.prop, THIS WILL REPLACE IT! If you have the know how, extract the files and push them manually and modify the build.prop manually. If you don't know what I'm talking about, or you have to ask for help, DO NOT DO IT MANUALLY!

1. Put the zip on your sdcard.
2. Boot into BSR
3. Do a nandroid backup! (See my tutorial, link in my signature.)
4. Flash the zip file.
5. Reboot.

That's it.... Nothing complicated. VERY simple and straight forward. Enjoy!

Ciao!

What does this change? What is the benefit of having 8 touch points?

Essentially all this does is up the touchpoints to 8. People have been asking for it, what for, I don't know. I needed it because for the Droid 48 app you need three touchpoints to reset the calculator. *shrug*
