I’m a TMOUS user and I’m using the TMOUS firmware and only updated the radio and the rils from 3.33 firmware as I get little better signal. You can download them from radio’s and rils thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1202867

\Regards,
So if a ROM calls for 3.33 would I still be ok using the 3.32 because it "recommends" 3.33?! The guy building the rom is in Europe but I am not sure if he has taken the TMOUS User into account. Thanks for your help.

TMOUS users or not, there is really not much difference between 3.32 and 3.33 firmware except radios and rils. hboot 1.29 is locked at the moment so everyone still using hboot 1.27 unlocked for the sake of fastboot. if you are on 3.32 firmware and want to try 3.33, just install the radio and the ril. I've already tried 3.33 based rom and they work just fine with updated radio and the ril. This way you still have your provider dish file like I'm using latest dish2 file from the 3.32.531.14.

\Regards,

Just to be sure, which are the main differences between 3.32 and 3.33? Is there a difference which can affect the performance of the phone? There are lots of rumors that phones with fw 3.32 are faster than 3.33

Advanced digital signal processor
Radio
Trust zones

We're the main files that changed.

Sbl1,2,3 stayed the same.

Mine 3.33/3.32 run the same but I am on a 3.32 rom. I just get better signal in Illinois. No speed boosts in data though

Thanks for making that clear so there shouldn't be a noticeable performance difference between the two firmwares..? Or do you know whats the Advanced digital signal processor thing for?

Not so much no
As for what it is for. It is what it says. A signal processor. This means that it deals with identification, modeling and utilization of patterns and structures of a signal process. (signal to noise ratio)

So its job is to make sure you get the least amount of noise as possible to your phone via radio communication

Hey man,
Thanks for all the work on doing this, I could risk and do something by guessing, but I figure its better to ask.
I have s-off and superuser and CID: 11111111 and MID PG58******
Reading 1st post on this thread you explain how to edit "android-info" file, but I am not sure what to put for "cidnum"
I have a USA t-mobile phone and t-mobile GB rom on it. (I have this phone for 2 days now -bought it used)
I thought I'll make it ready for flashing new ICS rom, although I will not be flashing it now as GB seems ok to me for now.

Here are few details I put together in case any of them helps in identifying what I am looking for:

Thanks

Hi! reboot your phone into bootloader, connect it to pc, start adb on pc and then type
Code:
fastboot getvar cid
That will give you the 8 alphanumeric characters code you have to put as cidnum. Watch the video linked on the OP if you have any further doubts. It is pretty self-explanatory
