I had the same problem, believe something went wrong with 'adb rm /data/local/su'
su is a system app now.
Go to apps, stop and clear superuser, restart.
It worked for me.

yuppie kay yey, the newbie is now ROOT .. thanks a lot for this post.. i was not offended but did not give up .. just missed some android sdk and **** and now i am root again

just wondering though...shouldn't this:

adb rm /data/local/mempodroid
adb rm /data/local/su

be this?

adb shell rm /data/local/mempodroid
adb shell rm /data/local/su


as rm is a linux shell cmd?

right. going to go fix it now, although, it shouldn't really matter it's just cleaning up the files

Superuser is still uninstallable.

mine gave me an error when i tried the rm commands as well, what i did was:

adb shell
cd /data/locak
rm mempodroid
rm su
exit
adb reboot

mine seems to be working fine with root access.
