Well, I had a custom ROM installed (Nils' Business Gingersense 1.5), so I dunno what the deal is. Maybe relocking got rid of access to it. I am super new to this all, so I appreciate the prompt replies.

The RUU is chewing on it now. So as I understand it, after this is done, to go back to a custom ROM, I need to unlock through HTC, flash a new recovery, install superuser if oneclickroot does not work, then install a new ROM like normal. Sound right, or am I making it too complicated?

All good I'm here to help. Once its done your 100% stock. If you were to want to root again you would unlock like before and try the one click root if you get a bunch of errors about permisions you'll need to flash amon ra recovery and then boot into the recovery once its done and under development menu hit the option to install Su / super user. You are then fully rooted again and you can flash like before

Didn't get any noticeable errors using oneclickroot, but it did not install Superuser for me, so I assumed that maybe root was not achieved. So I just flashed Amonra and did it the way you suggested. Worked like a charm. Your help saved me so much time. Thank you.

So I just got home from the Verizon store. They are mailing me a replacement so it's probably a refurb. (hoping for a new one though since they are so new) Anyway, I have stock sense with the default background and he asked me "Are you using a 3rd party os?" I laughed and said this is as stock as it gets. He did the factory reinstall and saw that it was still having the earpiece issue so he called and got it all taken care of.

So, I should have a new phone by Wednesday that I will get to go through the htcdev unlock process again. It's like getting a new virgin! :P

1. Assuming your bootloader is unlocked since you are rooted.

Fastboot Tool Download (Credit to slacker101 for the tool):
http://db.tt/nDADCLgY

The easiest way I've found to re-lock your rezound is to download the attached "tools.zip" and extract to your desktop.

Boot your rezound into fastboot by removing your battery, putting the battery back in, holding down on the volume rocker and power. Then plug your rezound into your computer. Assuming you used your computer to unlock the rezound then you should already have the required drivers.

Open command prompt and enter the following:

cd C:\Users\[Your Name Here]\desktop\tools

Then run the command

fastboot oem lock

Your bootloader is now locked and ready to begin restoring stock recovery and rom from Stock RUU.

2. Downloading the stock RUU

*Will Update As New RUU's Are Released*

2.02.605.11 STOCK RUU EXE
download
1.02.605.6 STOCK RUU EXE
download

(will add PH98IMG.zip download for 2nd method soon)

You can do this one of two ways. You can use the exe ruu which i like to use, its simple straight forward and guides you through the process

-or-

Extract the RUU zip from the exe or download from XDA its all over.
Rename the zip PH98IMG.ZIP put on root of SD card and boot into HBOOT hit
yes with appropriate volume key and let it do its thing.

I personaly perfer running the exe. Makes life easy. But whatever floats your boat.

SIDE NOTE: IF YOU WISH TO ROOT AGAIN
the one click root tool might not work properly and will not have proper permision to install SU, If this happens flash amon through fastboot. And under development section install su / superuser, you are now rooted again

***this was a quick write up so if you think anything should be added or removed, or there is some wrong information let me know so i can fix it***
i'm running ics rom. so as far as i know, in order to ruu,
i need to change the main version.
do i change the main ver. before re-locking or after?

i would suggest changing to a custom rom and witching mainver like cleanrom or something then once thats set and everything downgraded run one of the ruus
there are threads on how to do it, im not very knowledgeable with the process of changing mainver but i know that would be the proper way to do it, take a look around, dont want to give u wrong information
