Digitizer Problem

My touch screen recently stopped working on the right hand side of the screen maybe about 1/4 of an inch of it. I purchased a new digitizer installed it and now I have the same problem but on the left hand side of the screen (yes i installed it right side up you can only instal it one way). Is it possible the replacement also has a problem or is there something wrong with the digitizer processor(not sure if there is such a thing). I also took it apart and cleaned the jaw bone connector but I still have the same problem.

Im sure you tried this but try reinstalling the stock rom, not just format, it could always be a software problem depending on whats broken.
Ive had colored bars across my screen from buggy roms thinking my screen cracked/broke.

Not saying this is the exact issue you're having, but I did encounter a similar problem with my OG Droid. I bought a cheap replacement digitizer off eBay for an issue exactly like yours. When I installed it, the problem was actually worse than before the replacement. I bought one from a better reviewed manufacturer on Amazon and it worked like a charm. So I would say there's definitely a chance that you just got a bad replacement. They do seem to be somewhat fragile by nature.
