Exclamation wet screen protector = phone not working!

Hi guys! First post here, I've been watching the development forum (for new ROMs, etc) and can't post there yet, so took a while before posting something myself.

Long story short, I've installed a wet screen protector (extremeguard) and was careful not to use too much water, in fact I used a lot less than the manufacturer used in its video tutorial. I turned the phone back on (against the recommendations) because I can't live without it for a minute and the right side of the touch screen was unresponsive, it just didn't recognized any touch input. Since there was a small bubble in the middle of the screen I just thought it was causing it to be unresponsive. After a while (2h, maybe) I couldn't wait for it to start working any more and removed the protector. It's still not working! It's been 4 hours, the phone have been without the battery and back cover for most of that time, Ive even placed it on top of a heater (low setting) and later in a pack of rice and it still doesn't work!
The manufacturer says I shoudn't use the phone for about 24h, even though after 8h it shoud be fine. So this product is really supposed to make your phone stop working due to water damage and recover when it dries?! How f*ucked up is that?!
I've searched the forums and other people are having the same problem, although most of the time it starts working perfectly after a few hours again.

I can't recommend a wet aplication screen protector to anyone, anything that causes your phone to stop working, even if temporarily, is a bad idea!

UPDATE: After 12 hours, and lots of blowing it with the hairdryer, it's still not working. And since today is the 15th day since I bought the phone, and the last one to return it and ask for a replacement, that's exactly what I'll do!

DONATE TO ME
I have used this procedure 3 times on two u8800's. Both are still working. I applyed water with my fingers on the screen away from the edges and slided the protector on. Almost no bubbles were created.

I suggest you act dumb and take it to the warranty. They replaced myne, that I bricked with wrong ROM in 9 days....it was a long period, so I completely understand you, that you cant live without it for even a minute.

I carry my netbook all the time with me, incase the battery gets low, I can recharge it. I need to buy extra batteries aswell .

Mine have gaps around the digitizer glass (U8800pro), about the diameter of printing paper thickness. could this cause water to get in more easily? i guess it is due to little poor built quality, however have not noticed any other drawbacks yet
