What I have note so far, is that the device is in general a bit more sluggish than the UK v3 OM from nebulanerd, alhough changing frequency governor from conservative to ondemand in CM settings seems to have helped a bit. I guess this could be both to graphic drivers or kernel tweaks. What kind fo kernl does it run? Has it been possible to base it on a userbuilt kernel yet?
I'd love to see a ROM with a user built kernel as a foundation, maybe then we can someday have the perfect Novo 8 ROM.
What I have note so far, is that the device is in general a bit more sluggish than the UK v3 OM from nebulanerd...
The NebularNerd's ROM is based on tomx2h ROM. The only tweak seems to be mtd_partition_info (2GB) (by cheeyee)
and maybe frequency governor. I use conservative, like Ainol, because the battery life is very short! Maybe that firmware seem faster because uses ADW Launcher EX...
Might well have been the governor, as I don't notice any noticeable differences now. Also, I have installed ADW EX. Would have liked a more tablet-centric launcher, but VTL hasn' t been updated in a while, it seems.
Yes, the battery life is short (power hungry amlogic SoC isnæt really that suited for tablets, really).
Next time I'm buying a china-tablet I'm gonna make sure it comes rom a manufacturer who give ot source code, so we can see great efforts like this earlier and easier. It seems just as stable as the various modded ROMs already.
->Usb connetion is broken on screen off, both adb, usb mountt etc just dies. This should ideally not happen while there is a connection.
-> accelerometer/g-sensor is way of. Tilting forward equals turning left, and it doesn't behave as it should. Seen in t.ex. skies of glory (free) whih works well on other ROMs, so it shouldn't be a device issue. I can calibrate it just fine, but it seems every direction either equals tilting it left or doing nothing. Running "accelerometervalues app", it seems to be working though. Turning/tilting left and right registeres as opposites on the x-axis while the y and z axes are usually exact opposites of each other. I don't really know what the problem is.
-> Market shwows "not compatible with your device" on a LOT of apps. It seems some really basic requirement mut be missing from the build.prop. I can't even install Chainfire...
-> Bugs with enabling/disabling airplane mode and wifi. See here. (error descriptopn amon logcat output.
Also, please tell me if there is anything in particular you want to have tested.
edit: Do tell if you have any idea of when/if ac3/dts playback would be possible.
By now, we’re all quite familiar with Tasker, the personal automation app that seems to be able to … more
