Yes, as you say I only ported the batch file to bash, the vulnerability is exactly the same. Not a great work, but might be useful to someone, since I needed it for me

I just bought Tablet S yesterday .. my question is should I root first the tablet then update the firmware .. or update firmware first to ICS 4.0.3 then root the device? thanks..

ROOT FIRST. Then you have to pre-root ics before installing it. Instructions are on condi's Sony Tablet All In One Tool thread.

Does this work on the uk ota ics update? (out on 30th may) is there going to be any ICS custom roms? CM9?

If your tablet is actually rooted, follow Condi's instructions (AiO tool in "Android development" forum) to perform ICS update and you will keep root.

If your tablet isn't rooted and is rootable, root it before ICS update.

If your tablet isn't rootable (kernel 10 issue), update to ICS by the regular way when it comes then wait for something able to root ICS. There's actually no way to do it.

Sony tablet S is a hard-locked device and isn't a best seller on the Android development scene, so chances to have custom ROMs one day are few.
