LOL, I quote! Maybe even a 3.1

Sent from my Galaxy Note with DarkyROM 3.3

This is what we need. Should increase battery life significantly as well. A Tiamat kernel with OC GPU that has working deep sleep would be great!!

Deep sleep works for me?

I'm running AOKP M4 by the way.

Are u using the OC GPU or stock GPU Tiamat kernel?

I'm on Codename 1.5.0.

Edit: I see from your pic it is OC. Hum...I guess its the rom then. Gonna make a nandroid and flash AOKP and find out. Last time I tried AOKP it would not play my music from my sd card and it showed every folder twice when plugged into my PC. Had some unusual behavior.

M4 fixed a lot of those problems for me, runs great. Have it on my galaxy nexus as well.

Hi guys,

sorry, hadn't much time to do any kernel-dev,

the following patch might be useful in addition to the other l2-cache patch on the latest kernel:

https://lkml.org/lkml/2012/2/27/574

ARM: 7321/1: cache-v7: Disable preemption when reading CCSIDR

there are some other patches I wanted to do a pull-request - several of those are already in the latest repo, though

Cheers

That's a tasty looking patch. I have your repo on remote so if you've commited I can cleanly cherrypick.

ok,

I haven't gotten around to add the other changes that I wanted to add

but pushed it anyway:

ics_tiamat_mod10

the reverted jRCU for 2.6.39 is directly from it's developer, Joe Korty

so kudos to him

he asks for experience with battery runtime

unfortunately it didn't boot for me so far (it either stuck at the Motorola firmware logo or rebooted after a while without showing the bootanimation)

maybe you guys know what's up with that and also can give it a test spin if it boots

I had similar issues with e.g. BFS on the 2.6.35-kernel for the SGS where it wouldn't boot

and first after the kernel got ported/bumped up a few versions (afaik 2.6.37 or 3.0) BFS would start to work

the drivers in the SGS + kernel seem to hate too much modifications to the kernel-source so I'm not sure whether it's directly comparable with the situation
of the Xoom; add to that - that it's a different subsystem of the kernel

another thing to try out would be a different Binder implementation by Rong:

which is supposed to be way smoother than the original implementation (and probably some other advantages)

(forked repo): https://github.com/MotoXoomKernelFla...oid-binder-ipc

original: https://github.com/rong1129/android-binder-ipc

there's a kernel-patch part

and it looks like changes in the ROM also are needed

Sorry to butt-in here but does the Tiamat team take (paid) requests for kernels? I need one for a different device that has 0 activity on these forums.

The team doesn't but I do. I have absolutely zero shame and I'm greedy . Get my email from my profile.
