Installation Instructions:

• A simple wipe cache/dalvik cache and install this should be it. If you want clean install, wipe data, format system, and cache, then install.

OR
RECOMMENDED OPTION FOR NEW USERS

• These steps should work for anybody who has Sammy GB ROM on the phone with CWM recovery
  • Flash CM9/TH build 16 or my Slim ICS 2.6 then my latest base + essentials ( if you are on another ICS ROM, this shouldn't bee needed)
  • Reboot to recovery or if it bootloops, pull battery, enter CWM
  • wipe data, Flash base + essentials
  • reboot to system

NOTE: 3G data Issue Seems to be fixed, please test and report back

• Fast Charge in Kernel and Controlled via ASS - thanks to chad0989 for FC patch - Turned off by default, take a look at this post for how it works.
• Free Mem increase via kernel and device ( increase of about 40 MB) - thanks to Kali of CM team for source, i get about 200 MB free with 60 data apps installed, increase of about 50 MB.
• Face book Sync
• Nav Bar via ASS, turned off by default , turn it on via ASS( search and memu vritual keys are not transparent, other 3 are)
• Calendar ( text ) in lockscreen, turned off by default again, turn it on via ASS.
• Kernel Tweaks via ASS - thanks to AOKP for source - Don't enable fast charge in boot, if you do, it will cut off the data connection to pc.
• Base and Essentials pretty much remain the same size
• Big boost in benchmark performance via secret sauce
• I can't remember what else, this is still 4.0.3, repo syncing 4.0.4 now.

Known Issues with 3.0

• Lockscreen wallpaper doesn't work - original source issue
• Lockscreen weather doesn't, just pull down notification bar
• Search and Menu buttons are not transparent in Nav Bar

Starting with 2.7 I am forming a common base for galaxy variants, so every user needs to flash the Slim_ICS_Base_2.7 and their device essentials, so a I9000 user has to flash the Slim_ICS_2.7_I9000_Essentials as well, if you don't your system won't boot. I am doing this so i can make it easier on my side and allow users of vibrant and captivate to become Slim.

Market Workaround at 182 DPI:

• 
  Use this Vending.apk if the inbuilt one doesn't allow paid apps.
  or
• Change to 240 dpi, reboot, clear market cache, and verify that all apps are seen ( if you can't see any at 182 dpi), then change it to 182 dpi and don't clear cache. All apps will show up until you clear cache next time.
  or
• Buy LCD Density Modder Pro. Easily allows to change DPI and downloads a modded multi dpi marketplace.

This build def feels very snappy I have to say

ahhh... the Kraken has been released!

I found that the installation of this ROM is one of the easiest I've seen around since CM7.

Just wanted to add a few installation pointers:

[Method_1] Comming from CM7 or another CM9? (most likely has CWM installed already)

• Copy the ROM file and Essentials to the internal SD
• Reboot into CWM
• Wipe data/factory reset
• Go to Install zip file, select zip file and install FIRST the Base ROM and then WITHOUT REBOOTING install the Essentials .zip too

[Method_2] If [Method_1] causes a bootloop, do the following (see image below with the dead Androski)
The bootloop might be SO FAST that you won't even have a chance to read the message. The pictures bellow were taken by a video camera and placed in slow motion.

• Remove the battery and place it back again to stop the loop (NOTE: you can also stop the loop without removing the battery by pressing all 3 buttons for more than 6 seconds)
• Press the appropriate combo to enter RECOVERY MODE <----
• Wipe data/factory reset
• Go to Install zip file, select zip file/s and install again

[Method_3] Issues? The above procedure didn't work?

• Flash to your known good stock ROM (w/e STOCK ROM you know WORKS for you i.e.2.2 ~ 2.3.6)
• Full Factory format with Internal SD Format
• Copy the ROM file to the internal SD
• Download EZOdin and the EZboot-GingerBread-1.0.tar.md5 (GBL) from here
• Load GBL in PDA, click on bootloader update and reset time, NOTHING ELSE
• Once odin says pass with a green bar, pull battery
• Reboot into CWM
• Wipe data/factory reset
• Go to Install zip file, select zip file and install

I've tried to do a Wipe /cache after the factory reset but it seems redundant, as the factory reset will include that as well. In my testing wiping the /Dalvik cache didn't present any changes, but doing it wont hurt

[[Notes about the Modem]]
This rom doesn't include a modem and the updater script wont even bother looking for one, so whatever modem you were using before, it will keep it!

From my personal experience, I've found that the modem I used under my 850MHz Carrier (KC1), didn't work as well as the KG3 that I'm using now under ICS. To try a different modem you may use any CM7/ICS CWM flashable package.
