Low light and low bleed in darkness and completely off in sunlight.

Zip aligning is necessary. Did you make sure you followed step #8 exactly and delete "resourcs.arsc?" Then you zipalign, rename and push back to the phone. It worked fine for me.

Thanks for that NRG. I hate having to mod the ROMs to my liking when they come out but this will make it one less thing for me to have to do every time!

OH....I JUST REALIZED!!! Did you say "The ROM I'm releasing today???" Is this a new "tweak" of 3.0? Can't wait for that. Nothing on your Energy ROM thread yet but the day is young.
Yes, I have lowered the voltage value for my kernel. So if you hard-code the values via apk hack, it may be too low for my kernel. If someone can make this into a variable setting, then you can use that hack to adjust the value for both stock and my kernel.

Yes it does, but it's nothing major if you know where the soft keys are. I personally would rather have them off completely over the screen bleed.
But that's me.

I wish there was a way to lower the power output to the lights and just dim them real low instead of just modding at which point they come on

that is exactly what the first post in this thread dose....

if you want them really low change from
Code:
<integer-array name="config_autoBrightnessButtonBacklightValues">

255

255

255

-1

0

0

0

0

0

    </integer-array>
to

Code:
<integer-array name="config_autoBrightnessButtonBacklightValues">

120

120

120

120

-1

0

All this did for me was change the point at which they turn on, not how bright they are

I noticed that also, I ended up just turning mine off completely until we can figure out how to lower the brightness on the LEDs. even changing the values to the following only adjusted when the lights came on but they were just as bright as before the MOD.

<integer-array name="config_autoBrightnessButtonBacklightValues">

5

5

5

5

-1

0

0

0

0

0

</integer-array>

Acer Iconia A500 : Rooted
HTC Amaze (Ruby) : Back-up
HTC Glacier (MT4G) : Dead

The House Boss'
HTC Ruby (Amaze) Rooted, S = OFF
HTC Espresso White : Dead

BabyGirl's

ugh, even while setting the button brightness to 50, there is still bleeding when the screen brightness is at 0! damn, that's a bright button LED. also, in the original post, step # 9. [Once done, input 22 in apk manager...] is incorrect, the option is 23 to choose a new project. just thought i'd mention it . and thanks, it worked easily!

That can only be done in the kernel. Maybe we should ask one of the kernel devs to look into it for us.
