The difference between the strong and weak willed is that the weak traverse with wounds covered up and hide when attacked, while the strong stride on with open hands and tears. Wounds bared open, and will continue to go on, even when broken at their core

Alright I read the changelog.. I am running Milestone 4 and thinking about Milestone 5. but I all the users talking about wiping 500 times and still getting Force Closes is kind of getting me nervous.. Is it worth to upgrade when its running perfect now?

At least my $0.02, ignore all the wiping hype. As I mentioned in a previous post, I have also had issues with random reboots, but I truly believe it has to do with my specific EVO hardware revision and HWA AOKP, and nothing to do with wiping. I've had reboot issues since, and only since, HWA was added to AOKP, they are getting better over time (30/31 - 20+/day, 34 5-10/day, M5 1-2/day), and this despite many reattempts at reinstalling with wiping once, wiping x3, using Amon Ra, using CWM.

If you're running M4 and haven't tried a HWA build yet, it's a cr&pshoot, my EVO is revision 0003 FWIW, for some it runs great, for some it's borked. Make a nandroid that you can go back to, wipe and try, only way to find out how it'll work for you.

And another thought to throw into the ether, maybe it's something with the hardware revision and the camera, b/c opening camera on my definitely brings about instability, can get a picture or two taken, but have to count on getting a reboot. That and using Chrome have been the activities that have seemed to bring about reboots.

Yeah ignore all that wiping hype (that takes like 30 seconds to do) flash M5 then get on here and complain about all the problems you're having...my advice would be to make a Android of your current rom then flash M5...if you don't like it or it doesn't work good enough for you, you can always go back to M4

This is my EVO, there are many like it,

Okay so I caved in and completely wiped and flashed Milestone 5. And I love it. Exact same stability I had with 4 (99.99% Stable) and also now I can crop wallpapers when applying where before it was just black! Although some apps are incompatible now with the new version.

my $0.02 on wiping.. this is what I have done from day one and it was ALWAYS worked for me

Reboot into Recovery
1) Make a NanDroid (yes every time, that's why i have a 32GB microsd)
2) Wipe Cache, twice
3) Wipe Dalvik, twice
4) Wipe Cache, one more time
5) Wipe Dalvik, one more time
6) "Reset to Factory Default"
7) Flash my "VR_Superwipe"
8) Flash my new ROM
9) Reboot and Enjoy!

use that method on a EVo hardware version 003 and it will work 100% (Well it does for me at least)

*Update* see attached screenshot. Apex Launcher with Milestone5, only have 1 home screen with 3 dock tabs. Minimalistic at its best

are gps problems a common problem in aosp roms? I'm not having any force closes or anyhow like that, but for example, it will lock once if i'm in navigation and then lose the signal. turning it off then back on updates my location, but it stops and the cycle needs to be repeated.

gps test shows an average of 7 satellites and it is being updated, but navigation is not working, it is constantly "searching for gps."
